Discover these Memphis style homes and feel inspired to renovate your place

Memphis style is known for its use of neons and pastel colors, geometric shapes and repetitive patterns. Its boldness is what captivates interior designers to adopt this style created by the Memphis Group.

What is Memphis Style Design?

Memphis design began in 1981 in Milan after the creation of the Memphis Group by designer Ettore Sottsass with other 22 creatives. The group created furniture, fabrics and decor that mixed Art Deco, Pop Art and Kitsch styles.

Initially not well received by critics it was later recognizable as a ground breaking design that shifted the standards of the 80’s design. Emerging once again in the early 21st century, after Sottsass death, it influenced fashion houses like Missoni, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Dior.

Nowadays is still a trendy interior style that contradicts minimalism – also in vogue – with its ‘more is more’ philosophy.
